Helicopter Cargo Hooks

Siren is one of the best-known names in helicopter cargo hooks. Theirs have been standard equipment on Eurocopter from the beginning, both civilian and military models, and they now have a renewed presence in the Americas through Erie Aviation. We are pleased to offer new cargo hooks for sale, repair services and also the required overhaul services and recertification.
Cargo hooks are suspended under the helicopter and are used to carry cargo or sometimes specialized tools. The cargo can be released electrically or mechanically by the pilot or by ground crew with direct access to the cargo hook. Usually the load is carried close to the helicopter, but there are jobs that require a longline arrangement where a second cargo hook is suspended from the first on a "long line" well below the aircraft.
Typically a cargo hook is not used for transporting people – what you saw during Katrina was the US Coast Guard using a hoist directly accessible from the helicopter's cabin – but Siren offers "human capacity" dual-hook systems for rescue missions.
Siren is now part of Indraéro Siren and the cargo hooks are built at their plant in Argenton, France, about 3 hours south of Paris by car. Erie Aviation has supported Indraéro Siren for many years for their commercial aircraft products such as door locks for Airbus and cargo nets for ATR. We are very pleased to now also offer their helicopter cargo hooks.
The Siren hooks have recently been selected by Sikorsky for an S92A program and by Eurocopter for their UH145 program with the US Government.
Here are some of their most popular models:If your Siren cargo hook is coming up for overhaul (typically after 5 years of service), give us a call at 1-814-838-8934 or send us a message. We'll be happy to provide you with a quote, the expected turn-time and in some cases also with an overhauled exchange unit.
